Celebration of the 25th Anniversary
of the Third Order Rule

Peace and all good! We Sisters and Brothers of the Third Order Regular will celebrate a momentous occasion December 8, 2007: the 25th Anniversary of our Third Order Rule. Given the considerable importance and scope of this occasion, the Franciscan Federation is planning to celebrate this anniversary. It is our desire to have this celebration of the 25th Anniversary as accessible and as participative as possible.

The Franciscan Federation is grateful to all those thirty one congregations, the Federation’s National Board and other sisters and brothers who have participated in writing reflections on the Articles of the Third Order Rule, the Sundays of Lent and for the nine day retreat readings for the 2007 Lenten Reflection Booklet.  We are going to propose that this 2007 Lenten Booklet be called our 25th Anniversary Booklet as well.  The Franciscan Federation is also grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with Dorothy Dwyer OSF of Allegany Arts in Tampa, Florida in publishing the booklet. The timeliness of this project is evident in the immediate response and willingness to contribute reflections on all of the articles and reflections on Sundays of Lent by Federation Congregational Members.

We have received over 7000 pre orders for the booklet. It will be published in the fall 2006 and will be ready to be sent to those members who have pre ordered by January 2007.  There will only be a limited number of booklets available to those who have not pre ordered.
